What is YUTA?

The York University Temporary Agency (YUTA) is the internal agency that services York University's interim employee hiring needs. YUTA is responsible for sourcing, screening and placing all interim employees in work assignments throughout the University.

How long are temporary assignments?

All positions are short term and casual in nature. Assignments may be from one (1) day up to three (3) months, in some cases longer, in length.

This sounds like a great opportunity! How do I apply?

To view postings please visit the External Career Portal and refer to any postings that reference YUTA talent pools. We are always collecting applications for our immediate and future needs across campus.

Do you staff outside of campus?

All positions are within York University and may be located on Keele or Glendon Campuses, downtown at Osgoode Hall Law School’s Professional Development Centre, or the Schulich School of Business’ Nadal Management Centre.

Does working with YUTA lead to a permanent position with the University?

Working with YUTA provides applicants with experience in a post-secondary setting, which may be attractive to employers on campus. Employees in the YUSA 2 bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period are entitled to apply for YUSA-1 postings during the extended and external posting phases. For YUSA-1 postings, first order of consideration during the extended phase is given to qualified YUSA-2 applicants.
