YU Hire is York University’s Career Portal for all staff jobs at the university. This system allows applicants to be more connected throughout the hiring process, and beyond. "Track my Applications" displays a listing of all jobs you have applied to in YU Hire, including the status and outcome. You can also set job alerts, so you would be notified of any jobs posted that match the criteria you set.
Employee Portal - All internal staff postings are available on the York University Employee Career Portal – YU Hire. You can click the link located from “Faculty and Staff” homepage or you can enter the URL directly www.yorku.ca/yuhire into your web browser.
External Portal – Staff positions available to the external community may be posted Monday through Friday. To view postings please visit the External Career Portal.

If you are currently active in a work assignment (affiliation may vary but can include summer student, work study, YUSA 2, or other academic assignments) you are an active employee and need to view and apply to jobs using the Employee Portal.
Important information regarding some affiliations listed above:

Summer Student: if your summer student assignment ended, you are an active employee for 30 days following the end date of the assignment.

Student Passport York authenticated applications can include Moodle, Enrolment, Student Account Online Statements, and much more.

To apply for jobs, or if you wish to submit your résumé to join our Talent Community, you will need to create a profile. After you have created your profile, you will log in using the username and password that you created at the time of setup. Your username is the one you set, not your email address unless you chose that as your username.

Click on “Forgot your username or password.” You must enter the email address associated with your account, the one that was used when you created it. Otherwise, you will not receive an email.
Your password cannot be changed the same day you created your personal file. If you need to reset your password, wait 24 hours, then use the Password link from the My Account menu.

Once you are in the job posting view, the information on the left side of the screen provides information about the posting. Posting Intent applies to all postings and indicates where and how we are collecting applications for any given position/job. Also, be sure to look at Posted Date and Posting Range, as this will display the application collection period and any deadlines. Once you submit your application, you will receive a system notification that your application has been received. Please be advised that once you review, confirm and submit your application, it is considered final and you are unable to make changes or updates to the application package that was submitted to a given requisition, as well you cannot re-apply to the same job. We ask that you review the information you are submitting, including carefully reviewing that the version of the resume and covering letter are the versions that you choose to submit. You can update your general profile (personal file) at anytime including the attachment(s) contained within. Those attachments can be replaced at anytime during the application process. To upload a new resume and cover letter you first need to browse and attach the files, complete the required fields and then click the save button at the bottom of the screen to save down the information and attach the resume and cover letter. When the page refreshes you will be brought to the submission screen for review once complete click Submit to submit your application. Jobs that are posted YUSA 1 internal are for the YUSA 1 bargaining unit, all other applicants will receive an ineligible application notification. Once you receive your employee ID and create your Passport York username and password, you will then be able to login to the Employee Career Portal using the PY username and password.
Your onboarding path is assigned in YU Hire. You need to login to the Employee Career Portal using your Passport York username and password. Once assigned, the onboarding path becomes the main screen of your account. It is important to complete all tasks assigned within the path. YUTA is The York University Temporary Agency, this is the internal agency that services York University's interim employee hiring needs. YUTA is responsible for sourcing and placing all interim employees in work assignments throughout the university. All positions are short-term and casual in nature, ranging from 1 day to a maximum of 3 months.
